Murder committed 11 years ago disclosed

As a result of the joint activities of employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, another particularly serious crime has been solved – a premeditated murder that has remained unsolved since previous years, AZERTAC reports citing joint information from the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thus, on October 31, 2011, upon discovery of the body of Gurbanov Ilkin Samir oglu (born 1974) with traces of violence in the entrance of a residential building located on the territory of the NZS settlement of the Khatai district of Baku city, a criminal case was initiated with traces of violence. Despite the investigation, the criminal proceedings were suspended due to the impossibility of identifying the person (persons) who committed the crime.

After the re-examination of the criminal case by the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the proceedings were resumed. It was established the crime was committed by Ahad Salakhov. On August 24, 2022, he was detained and brought to trial as a suspect in a crime under Art. 120.2.5 (premeditated murder committed for hire) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
