State Border Service: A violator of the state border with a large consignment of drugs was detained

On August 26, 2022, at 03:05, on the territory of the outpost of the Goytepe border detachment, located near the village of Arazbar, Bilasuvar region, a detachment of military personnel noticed an unknown person approaching the engineering fence from Iran in the direction of Azerbaijan and immediately returning, oxu.az reports citing the press – Center of the State Border Service (SBS).

The frontier post was immediately raised on the command “In the gun”, the territory was blocked and taken under control.

During the search and operational activities carried out in connection with the violation of the state border, the attention of the border guards was attracted by the suspicious actions of a man who removed an unknown object from a cache in the border zone at 03:40.

The suspect, who did not obey the order of the border guards to stop, was detained while trying to escape from the scene. It turned out to be a resident of Baku, Zeynalabdin Balakishiyev (born in 1991).

During a personal search, 18 kg 385 g of narcotic drugs (14 kg 755 g of marijuana and 3 kg 630 g of opium) were found and seized from him.

An investigation into this matter is ongoing.
