Former minister of labor and social protection pleads guilty

On September 5, 2022, the Baku Court for Grave Crimes held a court hearing on a criminal case against the former Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan Salim Muslimov, accused of exceeding his official powers and embezzling 27 million manats of budget money, as well as bribery, reports oxu .az

During the court session, the reading of the 107-page indictment was completed. Judge Faig Ganiev presiding over the trial invited the ex-minister to testify.

S. Muslimov pleaded guilty to the charges against him. At the same time, he stated that he did not agree with the part where he was accused of embezzlement. The ex-minister’s lawyer said that his client is not yet willing to testify.

The trial will continue on September 12, 2022.
