Smuggling of more than 20 kg of drugs prevented

The smuggling of a large consignment of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented, the Internet news portal report.az reports with reference to the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.

On September 3, 2022, at about 13:45, signs of a violation of the state border of Azerbaijan by Iran were noticed on the official territory of the outpost of the Goytepe border detachment of the Border Troops near the village of Buravar, Yardimli region.

The border detachment found two packages in the indicated territory, inside of which there were 20 kg 400 grams of narcotic substances and 710 tablets with psychotropic content.

In the course of joint operations with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, persons who tried to smuggle drugs across the border were identified and detained. They turned out to be residents of the Yardimli district Mamishov Elmir Simran oglu, born in 1992. and Beibudov Zaur Jalair oglu, born in 1980

In fact, operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
