The President took part in the opening of a new school in the capital’s Binagadi settlement

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a full secondary school No. 335 built in the Binagadi district of Baku, oxu.az reports citing AZERTAC.

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullaev informed the head of state about the conditions created at the school.

Thus, in connection with the need to build a new educational institution due to the large number of students in schools in the Binagadi region, in accordance with the order of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 30, 2019, a project for this school was developed. The educational institution for 1,600 students, the construction of which began in November 2020, has 63 classrooms, four computer labs, two pre-school training rooms, five STEAM rooms, two sports halls, rooms for basic military training, foreign language, music, drawing , physics, chemistry and biology, a first-aid post, a library, a dining room for 200 seats and an assembly hall for 520 seats. The total area of ​​the four-storey building is 17,254 sq.m.

President Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions created in the classrooms for preschool and primary military training, physics, computer science, a library, a gym, a chemical laboratory, a canteen, and STEAM classrooms of this educational institution.

The STEAM project has been applied in our schools since the beginning of the 2019/20 academic year at the initiative of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. STEAM education through hands-on activities not only helps students to apply scientific and technical knowledge in everyday life, but also to master engineering skills.
