Property of ex-head of Baku Steel Company seize

The property of ex-head of Baku Steel Company Rasim Mammadov, who is under arrest in connection with a criminal case, has been seized, APA reports. These are the Baku Oxford School in the Badamdar settlement of the Sabail district of Baku, a factory, several private residential buildings and a dacha. The total cost of these facilities is about 70 million manat. The founder of the Baku Oxford School is the wife of Rasim Mammadov – Mehriban Mammadova.

It is reported that part of the seized property worth about 30 million manats was registered in the name of Rasim Mammadov’s relatives. In this regard, they filed a petition with the court in the first trial, wanting them to be recognized as a third party who made an independent claim. The court left the petition without consideration.

Rasim Mammadov was detained by the State Security Service. He was charged under Articles 179.4 (Misappropriation or embezzlement, committed with causing especially large damage), 193.3.2 (False business with the receipt of especially large income), 308.2 (Abuse of official powers, resulting in grave consequences) and 313 (Official forgery) of the Criminal Code.

The criminal case is being investigated in the Baku Court for Grave Crimes
