Azerbaijan grants convicts the right to a video meeting

Convicts are given the right to a video meeting, APA reports. This was reflected in the amendment proposed by Milli Majlis deputy Nizami Safarov to the Code of Execution of Punishments, which was discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy and State Building and was recommended to the plenary session of the Parliament.

The project provides for the replacement of short-term meetings with phone calls and video meetings at the request of the convict in cases where restrictions on meetings are introduced during the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes.
