The public prosecutor petitioned to deprive of the rank of General of the Ministry of National Security

The public prosecutor has petitioned the court to sentence a former head of the Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the abolished Ministry of National Security (MNB) Nizami Shirinov to 12 years in prison, heads of departments Eldzhan Abdullayev and Elman Takhirov, as well as ex-detective officer Nadir Nazirov to 11 years in prison, reports Internet news portal report.az.

At the trial chaired by Judge of the Baku Military Court Jamal Ramazanov, the public prosecutor demanded that the criminal case against Elman Takhirov, a former employee of the Ministry of National Security, be terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

The prosecutor stated that the arrested property of the accused is subject to confiscation. In addition, in his speech, the public prosecutor demanded that a decision be made on sending a presentation to the president to deprive N. Shirinov of the rank of general.
