Azerbaijan grants convicts the right to a video meeting

In Azerbaijan, convicts are granted the right to a video meeting, Trend.az reports. This issue was reflected in the draft law on amending the Code on the Execution of Punishments, which was submitted for discussion at today’s plenary session of the Milli Majlis (parliament).

Presenting the bill, deputy Nizami Safarov said that the document provides for the right to video meetings for prisoners in cases of restrictions on meetings during the period of anti-epidemic, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes, the replacement of short-term meetings during this period with telephone calls and video meetings at the request of the convict.

After discussions, the document was put to a vote and adopted.
