Prosecutor General’s Office: former head of Gubadly Executive office detained in Poland, request for extradition sent

On the fact of committing a number of especially grave crimes in 1993, organized by the former head of the Executive Power of Gubadli region Elkhan Nuriyev, a criminal case was initiated in the prosecutor’s office of Gubadli region under articles 120.2.10, 29,120.2.11, 309.2 and other articles of the Criminal Code, and Elkhan Nuriyev was declared on the wanted list with involvement as a defendant under the specified articles, APA reports. with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The report says that Elkhan Nuriyev was detained on the territory of the Republic of Poland on 02.10.2022. For the extradition of Nuriev to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General’s Office sent a request to the relevant structures.
