Colonel of the reserve of the Ministry of Defense arrested

Elnur Mammadov, a reserve colonel of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, has been arrested, report.az Internet news portal reports. In the Baku Military Court, at a meeting chaired by Judge Elbey Allahverdiyev, E. Mammadov was sentenced to six months in prison. Earlier, on social networks, having made a number of accusations, he criticized the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, including the head of the Personnel Department of the Main Directorate for Personnel, Major General Elchin Khalilov. The Ministry of Defense denied the allegations and went to court.

He was charged under article 147.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (slander, slander with accusation of committing a grave or especially grave crime).
