The arrested general hid the confiscated goods in his cottage

Interesting facts have been revealed regarding the arrested ex-head of the Main Operations and Investigation Department of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan, Major General Masum Rasulov, oxu.az reports with reference to Unikal.

Thus, under the pretext of destroying various types of goods confiscated during the customs inspection, he kept them in the basement of his three-story villa located in the Fatmai village of the Absheron region. Then the general sold these goods to various trading facilities.

It is noted that M. Rasulov was detained by the State Security Service on July 14 as part of a criminal case on corruption. In the course of the investigation, reasonable suspicions were revealed that M. Rasulov embezzled large funds from the state budget.

He was prosecuted under Articles 179.4 (appropriation of state property on an especially large scale) and 308.1 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
