The police carried out an operation: drug traffickers were detained

The internal affairs bodies continue operational measures against people involved in drug trafficking, reports oxu.az with reference to the Shirvan regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Thus, as a result of operational activities carried out jointly by employees of the Main Department for Combating Drugs of the department and the Shirvan Main Department of Police, Kamal Karimov, a native of the Hajigabul region, was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking. During a personal search, marijuana packed in a matchbox was found and seized, and during the inspection of the man’s vehicle, more than 500 grams of marijuana was found.

During another operation carried out by police officers in the same direction, Ali Alkanov, a local resident of the same district, was detained. More than seven grams of marijuana were found on him, and another 502 grams of marijuana were found in his car, which were seized as material evidence.

According to these facts, criminal cases were initiated, and a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against the detainees.

Investigations are ongoing.
