Drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

On November 11, 2022, at 21:00, on the territory of the outpost of the Horadiz border detachment, located near the village of Garaguvendikli, Imishli region, smuggling of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented, oxu.az reports with reference to the State Border Service of the country.

As a result of the measures taken, a resident of the Gazakh region Orkhan Sadigov (born 1986) was detained. During his personal search, 9,900 g of narcotic substances (9,300 g of marijuana, 100 g of opium and 400 psychotropic tablets “Methadone-40” with a total weight of 500 g) were found and seized.

On this fact, operational and investigative measures are ongoing.
