Chief editor arrested for fraud

In Barda, the editor-in-chief arrested for fraud. This was reported to oxu.az by the chief inspector of the regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police captain Aslan Giyasli.

In the course of operational activities carried out by officers of the Barda district police department, Faig Azimzade, who is the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Tarixin səhifələri (“Pages of History”), was detained. The investigation revealed reasonable suspicions that he abused the trust of citizens and committed fraud.

A criminal case has been initiated against F. Azimzade under Articles 178.2.2 and 178.2.4 (fraud committed repeatedly with significant damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an investigation is underway.

By a court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.
