Convicts will be able to hold video meetings in Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev approved amendments to the Code on Execution of Sentences, APA reports. According to the law, convicts in Azerbaijan have the right to hold video meetings.

The law provides for the replacement of short-term meetings with telephone conversations and video meetings at the request of the convict in cases of limited visits during the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes.

Talking on the phone or holding a video meeting in the manner prescribed by this Code will be carried out at the choice of the convict. The video meeting will be organized in a special room isolated from other prisoners.
