For the first half of the year, 472 thousand people were provided with access to high-speed Internet

If in 2015-2020 150,000 citizens had access to fiber-optic Internet, then in the first half of this year alone, 472,000 people got access to high-speed Internet. The Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said this at an international conference in Baku on the topic “Innovative approach to the development of cities and rural areas: smart cities and villages”, according to report.az Internet news portal.

The Minister noted that by the end of 2024, the entire population of the country will be provided with high-speed Internet. This is one of the main tasks set before us by the head of state. Of course, it is also the responsibility of the Ministry to ensure the security of the virtual environment. To this end, the ministry held negotiations with the Israeli Technion University, in the next 3 years about 3,000 specialists will be trained.
