Sentence passed against accused of high treason

Sabuhi Salimov, accused in high treason, was sentenced to 17 years in prison, oxu.az reports. The verdict was announced during a meeting of the Baku Grave Crimes Court chaired by Judge Eldar Ismayilov.

S. Salimov was detained in October last year by officers of the State Security Service. He was charged under article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
