Minister of Finance of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic arrested, investigation continues

The Sabail District Court of Baku city has considered the petition of the investigator against the Minister of Finance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Rafael Rza oglu Aliyev on the criminal case being processed by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, the report.az Internet news portal reports. By the decision of judge Ulviya Shukurova dated November 26, 2022, R. Aliyev was arrested for a period of four months.

Rafael Aliyev is accused of abuse of power and embezzlement of 144 million manats of public funds in various ways.

It should be recalled that according to previously published information, the State Security Service carried out an operation in the State Customs Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, various high-ranking officials of the Committee were brought to justice and arrested.
