Persons who evade registration of a mobile device will be fined up to 12,000 manats

New fines are set for changing or copying the IMEI number of a mobile device, APA reports.

This was reflected in the article proposed to be added to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was discussed today at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy and State Building and recommended to the plenary session of the Parliament.

According to the bill, changing or copying the IMEI number of a mobile device in order to evade the registration of a mobile device entails a fine for individuals in the amount of 300 to 400 manats, for officials – from 1,000 to 1,500 manats, for legal entities – from 3,000 AZN. manat up to 4 thousand manats.

For a repeated offense within 1 year from the date of entry into force of the decision on administrative penalty, individuals will be fined from 600 to 800 manats, officials – from 2,000 manats to 2,500 manats, legal entities – from 9,000 manats to 12 thousand manats.

If the law is passed, it will come into force on April 1, 2023.
