The court rejected an appeal of the former head of EP of the Imishli region

The trial on the appeal of the former head of the Imishli District Executive Office William Hajiyev has ended, APA reports.

The Baku Court of Appeal, chaired by Judge Ibrahim Ibrahimli, noting that the decision of the court of first instance against V. Hajiyev was legal, rejected the complaint.

The complaint filed to cancel the decision on the arrest of the 5 millionth property, issued in the name of V. Hajiyev’s wife Julietta Ibrahimova and their son Magomed Hajiyev, was also recognized as unfounded.

William Hajiyev was detained during a special operation of the State Security Service (SSS). He was found guilty under articles of the Criminal Code 179.3.2 (misappropriation or embezzlement on an especially large scale), 308.1 (abuse of official authority), 311.3.3 (receiving a bribe on a large scale), 313 (forgery) and 228 (illegal possession of weapons) and by the decision of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
