Major drugs smuggled from Iran seized

On December 4, 2022, at 21:40, smuggling of narcotic drugs into Azerbaijan was stopped at the territory of the outpost of the Lankaran border detachment near the village of Gapychimekhelle, Astara region, APA reports quoting the press service of the State Border Service.

So, at about 22:00 in the village of Penser, Astara district, a suspicious car “Ford tranzit” (07-BF-653) was detained.

During the inspection, it was established that the driver is a resident of the above-mentioned village Mammadov Gyuloglan Hasanaga oglu (born in 1978). When inspecting the car, more than 42 kg of narcotic drugs were found and seized – heroin, hashish, marijuana, opium, psychotropic pills “methamphetamine” and “methadone-40”.

Operational and investigative measures are still ongoing.
