The court made a decision on the case of the ex-head of the Bilasuvar district executive power

Consideration of the appeal against the verdict against the former head of the executive power of Bilasuvar region Mahir Guliyev in the Shirvan Court of Appeal has been completed, APA reports.

The Judicial Collegium, chaired by Judge Rafik Jafarov, did not satisfy the complaint filed by Mahir Guliyev’s lawyer.

Recall, the former head of the Executive Power of Bilasuvar region Mahir Guliyev was arrested as a result of an operation carried out by the State Security Service. He was found guilty under articles 179 (misappropriation and embezzlement), 308.1 (abuse of power), 311.3.2 (repeated bribe-taking) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 11 years in prison by the Lankaran Grave Crimes Court. According to the verdict, two apartments in Baku and one car were confiscated from Mahir Guliyev.
