The post of Commissioner for Ethics established

The post of Commissioner for Ethics has been established in Azerbaijan, trend.az news agency reports. This issue was reflected in the amendments to the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the rules of ethical behavior of civil servants” discussed today at the plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis.

The “Strategy for the Development of the Civil Service in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2025”, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 23, 2018, in order to improve the application of the rules of ethical conduct for civil servants and ensure stricter compliance with the rules of ethical conduct in state bodies, noted the need to establish positions of an ethics commissioner responsible for ethics education and dispute resolution.

The issue was put to the vote and adopted in the third reading.
