State Border Service: 73 violators of the state border were detained last month

During December 2022, the State Border Service continued measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border, fight against smuggling, illegal migration, and drug trafficking, APA reports. Thus, within a month, 73 people were detained in the State Border Service for violating the state border, of which 24 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 18 citizens of Sri Lanka, 16 citizens of Pakistan, 5 citizens of India, 3 citizens of Iran, 3 citizens of Afghanistan, 1 citizen of Bangladesh, 1 citizen of Tajikistan and 2 citizens of Turkey.

As part of activities to combat illegal migration, 43 people were detained while trying to cross the state border with fake passports, visas and date stamps.

1,577 people were detained for violating the rules of the border regime, and appropriate measures were taken against them.
