The trial of the accused in cooperation with the special services of Armenia

A preparatory hearing on the criminal case of Emil Mammadov, accused of collaborating with the Armenian special services, was held, report.az news agency reported.

At the trial, chaired by the judge of the Baku Grave Crimes Court Siyavush Hajiyev, the personal data of the accused were clarified. It was established that Mammadov has a higher education, he has four children.

The next court session is scheduled for January 10, 2023.

Mammadov was arrested by the State Security Service in March 2022. During the investigation, reasonable suspicions were revealed that Emil Mammadov, to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, state security and defense capabilities of Azerbaijan, met in the territory of a third country with employees of the Armenian special services and was involved in secret cooperation in exchange for a monetary reward.

He was charged under article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
