Special operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs against accomplices of the Iranian drug lords

The Main Department for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan has carried out a special operation to detain members of a criminal group that supplied drugs from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan for sale in our country, oxu.az reports citing the ministry’s press service. During it, 36 people were detained who were smuggling drugs from Iran and involving young people in their sale.

The detainees, who had the nicknames Pünhan, Baba, Peyman, Araz, established cooperation with Iranian drug lords and created an extensive network of drug couriers. They seized 114 kg of drugs, psychotropic substances, electronic scales, 3,000 units of a synthetic stimulant with a psychedelic effect – ecstasy and psychotropic methadone tablets.
