18 people involved in drug trafficking by Iranian citizens detained

Over the past month, employees of the 16th station of the Narimanov District Police Department, as a result of operational measures, detained 18 people involved in illegal trafficking and sale of drugs, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. About 5 kg of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, as well as electronic scales were seized. Criminal cases have been initiated against the detainees under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In their testimony, some of the detainees admitted that they bought drugs in the city of Baku from Iranian citizens whom they met on social networks.

On the territory of the Narimanov district of Baku, operational activities are ongoing to identify persons involved in drug trafficking.
