Suspect detained for theft of a large sum and arson of a house

As a result of operational-search activities, employees of the Yevlakh District Police Department identified and detained a resident of the Goranboy region, previously convicted Namig Rustamov, suspected of stealing a large amount of money and setting fire to a house, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is noted that on May 26 last year, an attacker entered one of the houses in the village of Khangervend and stole 17,000 dollars and 550 euros, as well as gold jewelry worth 7,000 manats, after which he set fire to the house.

The matter is under investigation.
