President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of the Juma Mosque in Baku

On April 20, 2023, after a major overhaul and reconstruction, carried out at the initiative of the head of state, the Juma mosque in the Narimanov district of Baku was opened, oxu.az reports citing AZERTAC.

The event was attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.

Today in Azerbaijan, whose multicultural traditions, tolerant environment, historical steps to strengthen solidarity within the Islamic world are perceived with interest on a global scale, special attention is paid to the protection of monuments of various religions, including the Islamic religion. A manifestation of this is the construction and overhaul of mosques.

The participation of Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva in the opening of the Juma mosque on the eve of the holy Ramadan holiday has a symbolic meaning.
