Baku hosts first international conference on forensic archeology and anthropology

An international conference on “Forensic Archeology and Forensic Anthropology: Humanitarian Application” has started in Baku, Report informs. An international conference on this topic is being held in Azerbaijan for the first time. The organizers are the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Citizens, the Institute of Archeology, Ethnography and Anthropology of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

During the two-day international event, more than two hundred participants from different countries will share their knowledge and experience in the field of forensic archeology and anthropology.

The purpose of the scientific conference is to bring together specialists and researchers in the field of forensic archeology and anthropology from the USA, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland, Canada, Peru, Turkey, Azerbaijan, as well as from Cyprus, the creation and development of scientific foundations in Azerbaijan using international standards , multidisciplinary framework and humanitarian approach.
