Citizens put on international wanted list extradited to Azerbaijan

Two citizens put on the international wanted list were extradited to Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan.

On the basis of petitions of the Prosecutor General’s Office in accordance with the requirements of the European Convention of 12/13/1957 “On Extradition” and the relevant additional protocols of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Convention of 01/22/1993 “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters” of the Russian The Federation made a decision to extradite citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yusif Aliyev and Lamin Veliyev to our country.

Thus, due to the fact that serious suspicions were revealed that L. Veliyev had committed theft, and Y. Aliyev had committed robbery in the territory of Azerbaijan, they were put on the international wanted list as defendants under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On May 25, 2023, L. Veliyev and Y. Aliyev were brought to Azerbaijan, accompanied by a special escort of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
