Marijuana smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan stopped

Drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented, oxu.az reports with reference to the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan.

According to the information, on August 6, 2023 at 13:55, thanks to the vigilance of the border detachment “Horadiz” of the State Border Service, smuggling of a large consignment of narcotic drugs through the state border with Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented in the service area near the village of Gazakhlar, Fizuli region.

As a result of border searches and operational activities, 15 kg 195 g of marijuana were found and seized.

An investigation into this matter is ongoing.
