Court judgement in the case of the former dean

The Ganja Grave Crimes Court held a trial in the criminal case of the former dean of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University Famil Nasibov, oxu.az reports. At a meeting chaired by Judge Mikail Mammadzade, the verdict was announced.

The court sentenced F. Nasibov to imprisonment for a period of 8 years, and also deprived him of the right to occupy leadership positions in government agencies and local governments for a period of 3 years. Article 70 of the Criminal Code was applied to the convicted person, according to which he was given a probationary period of four years. The main preventive measure chosen against F. Nasibov in the form of house arrest was changed to a written undertaking not to leave. The main preventive measure, together with the additional one in the form of removal from office, remained unchanged until the sentence entered into legal force.
