The State Migration Service and the State Security Service carried out an operation, 31 foreigners were detained

During joint measures to combat illegal migration carried out by the State Migration Service (SMS) and the State Security Service (SSS), 31 foreigners with expired visas were detained in Baku. As APA reports, this is stated in the joint information of the press services of the State Migration Service and the State Security Service.

It was established that a travel company located abroad fraudulently brought them to the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan for $2,500, promising them that they would be provided with work in Azerbaijan. The organizer placed foreigners at different addresses in Baku, did not allow them to leave their apartments and made sure that they became illegal migrants in the country. Materials on the identified facts were sent for legal assessment to the relevant law enforcement agency.
