The investigation into the case of the former military commissioner-bribe-taker has been completed

A preliminary investigation into the criminal case of the former head of the Khachmaz district department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription for Military Service, Rahim Agayev, accused of bribery, has been completed, oxu.az reports. The materials of the criminal case collected against the accused were sent to the Baku Military Court.

The investigation had reasonable suspicions that, while in this position, for assistance in declaring a conscript unfit for active military service, R. Agayev received from a citizen 5,000 of the 8,000 manats requested as a bribe.

During the inspection of the office of the above-mentioned official, evidence of importance to the investigation was seized. Based on the preliminary evidence collected in the framework of the criminal case initiated on this fact, R. Agayev was charged under articles 308.2 (abuse of official powers, resulting in grave consequences or committed with the aim of influencing the results of elections/referendum), 311.3.3 (taking a bribe /passive bribery on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of the AR.
