An attempt to import almost 40 kg of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

The delivery of a large consignment of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the State Border Service (SBS).

It was noted that on October 6, 2023 at 00:23, as a result of the vigilance of the border guard detachment of the State Border Troops “Geytepe” in the service territory of the border post located near the village of Samedabad in the Bilasuvar region, the smuggling of narcotic drugs into the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Islamic Republic of Iran was prevented.

As a result of border inspection and operational activities, 39 kg 658 g of narcotic drugs and 700 M-40 methadone tablets were discovered and seized.

Operational and investigative measures on this fact are ongoing.
