Former State Customs Committee officials accused of bribery will appear in court

The preliminary investigation in the criminal case against former officials of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan – Malik Aliyev, Mehdi Mehraliyev, Zaman Abdurakhmanov and Ramin Mammadzade – accused of bribery has been completed, oxu.az reports. The collected materials on the case were sent for consideration to the Lankaran Court of Serious Crimes.

The criminal case was transferred to judge Oruj Jalilov. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 2, 2023.

According to official data from the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Customs Committee, based on information received about the illegal actions of a number of individuals, including the former head of the operational investigation department of the Southern Territorial Customs Directorate of the State Customs Committee Malik Aliyev, a criminal case was opened in the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General.
