The 1st Cultural Forum of the Turkic World is taking place in Shusha

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the First Cultural Forum of the Turkic World, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, started today in Shusha, oxu.az reports with reference to the Ministry of Culture. Participants and guests of the forum visited the Creative Center in Shusha and got acquainted with the exhibition “Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh”, which presented unique photographs, documents and video materials reflecting the merits of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of social, economic, political and cultural development in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan during Soviet times. The exhibition also presents photographs related to the visits of the national leader to Karabakh, meetings held here, and various events.

Then the forum participants visited the Saatli city mosque. The guests were introduced to the history of the mosque. It was noted that the mosque of the same name, located in the Saatli quarter of Shusha, was registered by the state as an architectural monument of national importance. The Saatli Mosque was built in 1883 according to the design of the architect Karbalai Safikhan Karabaghi, the author of several monumental religious and civil buildings in Karabakh, including the Ashaghi and Yukhara Govhar Agha mosques in Shusha, the Juma mosque in Aghdam and the Imamzadeh mausoleum in Barda.
