Over 20 years important successes have been achieved in ensuring the well-being of Azerbaijani citizens

In the elections held on October 15, 2003, Ilham Aliyev was elected President of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the high confidence of our people. Over the past 20 years, the well-being of the citizen of Azerbaijan has been and continues to be at the center of the policy of the head of state, Report informs. Thanks to the successful social policies of President Ilham Aliyev over the past two decades:

State budget expenditures on social protection and social security in annual terms increased by more than 20 times; the minimum wage increased 38 times to 345 manats, the minimum pension – 14 times to 280 manats; the average monthly salary increased 12 times – to 925.3 manats, the average monthly pension – 18 times to 435 manats, the average monthly old-age pension – 19 times to 466 manats; the average monthly disability pension increased 14 times, the average monthly pension due to the loss of the head of the family – 19 times; annual funds for pension payments increased more than 30 times, including over the last 5 years by 2.4 billion manats (70 percent), reaching 6 billion manats; Over the period since 2006, when the targeted social assistance program was launched, the average monthly amount of this assistance per family has increased 11 times and reached 478 manats.

In particular, over the past five years, 4 packages of social reforms have been implemented, which covered 4 million citizens: the minimum pension was increased by 2.5 times, the minimum wage – by 2.7 times, the average pension – by 2.1 times, social benefits and pension payments – 5 times, average wages – 2.1 times, wage fund – 2.6 times. Annual additional funds allocated for these reforms amounted to 7 billion manats.

The continuation and development at a high level by President Ilham Aliyev of the wise and far-sighted policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev will bring new historical achievements to our country in the coming period.
