The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged citizens to be careful in connection with the actions of cyber fraudsters

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan warns citizens in connection with the actions of cyber fraudsters,  oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the press service, recently there has been an increase in cases of scammers sending notifications to individuals via SMS, email and web pages stating that they are participants in cybercrimes, child pornography or victims of similar actions, and therefore it is necessary to provide personal data and make payments. When clicking on notifications, mostly advertising ones, the user is redirected to email addresses or mail for a similar version of a service. Fraudsters hide behind the names of police agencies of foreign countries, including Europol. Such actions are designed to write off citizens’ funds from bank cards and accounts.

It is reported that if these cases occur, it is recommended not to click on suspicious links, not to open fake web pages, but to contact the “102” service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the department’s accounts on social networks.
