Separatists imprisoned in Baku are given the opportunity to contact their families

In October, ICRC staff visited persons of Armenian origin reported by the Azerbaijani side. The head of the public relations department of the ICRC representative office in Azerbaijan, Ilaha Huseynova, said this in response to a request from Trend.

It was noted that one-on-one meetings were held with detainees and conditions were created for them to communicate with their families. “In accordance with its mandate, the ICRC, during its visits, assesses the treatment of detainees and the conditions of their detention, and creates conditions for the restoration or continuation of contact with their families. In accordance with ICRC procedures, observations and recommendations regarding visits are provided exclusively to the detaining party,” added I. Huseynova
