The court made a decision against the former chief architect and ex-official of the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Shirvan Court of Appeal has completed the process of appealing the verdict against the former chief architect of the Sabirabad region Mushfig Gasimov and the ex-chief adviser of the State Construction Inspectorate of the State Agency for Supervision of Construction Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Eldar Guliyev, accused of bribery, oxu .az reports. At a court hearing chaired by Judge Ilkin Abdullaev, a decision was announced according to which the appeal was not granted. It is noted that the accused were arrested last year as a result of a special operation by the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The indictment states that M. Gasimov entered into a criminal conspiracy with the chief adviser of the State Inspectorate for the Construction of Facilities of State Importance E. Guliyev and other persons and collected large bribes from citizens who approached them in exchange for granting permission and assistance in carrying out construction work on a non-residential facility, located on the territory of the Sabirabad district.

M. Gasimov and E. Guliyev were charged under articles 311.3.1 and 311.3.3 (receipt of a large-scale bribe by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The Lankaran Grave Crimes Court sentenced Mushfig Gasimov to 8 years and 6 months, and Eldar Guliyev to 5 years and 6 months in prison.
