State Border Service operation: smuggling of a large consignment of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented

As part of measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and the fight against drug trafficking, employees of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan prevented the smuggling of drugs with a total weight of 26 kg 945 g from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the territory of our country, oxu.az reports with reference to the press of center of the SBS.

As a result of border operational search activities, on December 4, 2023 at 19:15, 17 kg 900 g of marijuana was discovered and seized on the official territory of the border outpost of the Geytepe border detachment, located near the village of Edisha, Jalilabad district, and on December 5, 2023. at 05:30 on the service territory of the border outpost of the Lankaran border detachment, located near the village of Sym, Astara district – 9 kg 45 g of marijuana.

Based on these facts, operational investigative measures are ongoing.
