Drug trafficking suspects detained

Employees of the Main Police Department of Ganja and its subordinate bodies have taken a number of effective measures to identify persons involved in drug trafficking in the city, Report informs citing the Ganja regional press service group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Thus, as a result of operational search activities, about 20 people were detained, suspected of selling and distributing narcotic drugs delivered to the territory of the country, including Ganja, by various means. During a search of each detainee, their cars, houses and other places, various narcotic and psychotropic substances were discovered and seized.

The detainees stated that they purchased drugs from unknown foreign citizens through social networks for the purpose of sale and distribution in the city, as well as for personal use. During searches conducted at the residence of several persons previously convicted of similar crimes, along with drugs, firearms were discovered and seized. A criminal case was opened on each fact, and investigative measures are ongoing.

Employees of the Ganja Main Police Department continue efforts to identify other members of the drug network, as well as detain other individuals involved in drug trafficking in the city.
