A criminal case has been initiated into the issuance of forged documents at the National Hematology Center of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan

The illegal actions of officials of the National Center for Hematology and Transfusiology of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan have been exposed. APA reports that information about this was disseminated by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

As a result of an investigation conducted on the basis of information received about the illegal actions of employees of the public legal entity “National Center for Hematology and Transfusiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

During the preliminary investigation, grounds were identified for suspicion that officials of the specified medical institution in February-May 2023 made a false diagnosis of a blood disease without undergoing a hematological examination to many healthy citizens who contacted the Center, and thus they were provided with false medical documents for presentation to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription for Military Service, giving the right to disability and exemption from military service.

In fact, the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the General Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal case under Articles 308.1 (abuse of official powers) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
