Head of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan: Elections are open to the international community

During the period of early presidential elections, one of the main tasks of the Central Election Commission is to conduct the event together with the responsible government bodies. As APA reports, this was stated by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov at a meeting for the chairmen of district election commissions.

The Chairman of the CEC noted that they coped with this task in the previous elections: “The CEC is taking the necessary steps regarding the presidential elections. There are no problems with holding presidential elections in the country. Elections, of course, must be transparent. The world does not accept elections that are held in a non-transparent manner. We have no restrictions in terms of local observers.”

Mazahir Panahov said that our elections are open to the international community:

“All over the world, political will is perceived first and foremost. If the country’s leadership does not have the political will, then the implementation of other issues in accordance with the requirements of the law becomes impossible. We are already being cited as an example at international events. Buildings have been built for all constituencies.”
