The President of Azerbaijan and the First Lady visited the village of Girmyzy Bazar in the Khojavend region

On December 20, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva traveled to the Khojavend region. APA reports that the head of state and the first lady visited the village of Gyrmyzy Bazar.

The village was occupied by the Armenian armed forces in 1992. On September 19-20 of this year, as a result of anti-terrorist measures carried out by the Azerbaijani army in Karabakh, the village of Girmyzy Bazar was cleared of separatists.

It should be noted that Gyrmyzy Bazar is one of two villages in the Khojavend region and has a very advantageous strategic location, at the intersection of important roads. The status of a village was assigned to Gyrmyzy Bazar in 1947. The territory of the village is rich in natural resources, forest belts and fresh water reserves. Before the occupation, two eastern plane trees with a trunk diameter of 600 centimeters, a height of 25 meters, and were one thousand and two thousand years old, were protected as ancient natural monuments in the village. The village also has agricultural and tourism potential.
