In frame of the “Great Return”, the construction and restoration of 100 settlements is envisaged

The Great Return program provides for the construction and restoration of 100 settlements. Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev said this during a joint press conference with the Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Program Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Trend reports.

According to him, territorial planning of more than half of them has already been completed, and by the end of 2024 – beginning of 2025 it will be completed in full. He emphasized that holding the World Urban Forum in Baku will be an opportunity to demonstrate our results. Forum participants will be able to get acquainted with the work performed.

It is noted that the signing ceremony of the agreement between the government of Azerbaijan and the UN on holding the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku in 2026 is currently taking place.
