A large quantity of drugs was seized

In Baku, the police conducted an operation against the organizers of drug trafficking under the guise of taxis and courier services. Report was informed about this by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the next operation carried out by employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the basis of received operational information, an employee of one of the courier services, Elvin Mustafayev, suspected of drug trafficking, was detained. 5 kilograms of dried marijuana were found on him.

During another operation carried out by employees of the Main Directorate, a taxi driver, a resident of the Surakhani district, Rashad Salmanov, was detained. 21 kilograms of various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were found in his possession and in his apartment in the village of Bulbulya, as well as a bank card allegedly used for selling drugs.

Suspects E. Mustafayev and R. Salmanov stated that they purchased the drugs found on them from unknown Iranian citizens, whose identities are being established.

A criminal case was opened on each fact, and investigative measures are ongoing. Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs continue efforts to identify other members of the drug network.
